The Codes of Gender

Just found this documentary via a friend of mine. It's about how advertisement is based on our cultural believes and moralities, and how we define what gender is, when we find a woman feminine and a male masculine. As Jhally concludes in the end of the film:

"All images are authored by someone, and it is up to us whether we participate passively in the world that is created for us by meekly excepting the ideas behind them and reinforcing them trough our silence of whether we choose to engage the world, actively, by recognizing what is happening and not reinforce it. Question it, point out how strange normality can actually be."
